Even multinational corporations like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.walmart.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Walmart<\/a> know first-hand just how much a disorganized inventory can cost them. The aforementioned grocery chain giant <a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/paularosenblum\/2014\/05\/22\/walmart-could-solve-its-inventory-problem-and-improve-earnings\/?sh=2e34119f5db1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">lost a whopping $3 billion to poor inventory control back in 2013<\/a>, and suffered regular stock-outs for months after the fact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The Causes of Bad Inventory Management<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>There could be a million reasons why you\u2019re mismanaging your inventory. Most businesses have between 20% and 40% of their working capital tied up in inventory. One, you may order too many raw materials and deal with the issues of an overstocked inventory. Michael Donovan &amp; Co. website notes that bad inventory due to lack of control can create a scenario in which you don&#8217;t have the proper parts available for a product because you failed to check your inventory. This results in customer dissatisfaction and overall poor service to the clients you serve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Loss of Cost Effectiveness<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Bad inventory can be quite costly to your organization.
